Pre-school playgroups
are unique in that they are owned by the parents/carers
of the children attending the pre-school (this means
YOU!). The group is made up of the children who attend,
their parents/carers and staff who are employed to ensure
your child is cared for in a safe, secure, stimulating
and educational environment. A committee of elected
members is responsible for the overall management of
the group. If pre-school did not have a Committee, it
would not exist as we are a voluntary, non-profit making
group with charitable status.
The main Committee consists
of five members (generally elected at the AGM). Any
parent/carer is welcome to be on the committee, whether
as an elected member or as a supporter. We usually meet
once every half-term, unless there are pressing matters
to be addressed, and all parents/carers who would like
to be involved in the care and education of the children
and/or the running of the group are most welcome. It
is hoped that all parents/carers support their committee
without whom there would be no pre-school.
If you can help in any
way, no matter how much or how little time you can give,
it would be greatly appreciated. There is a list on
the noticeboard of ways you could help – please
volunteer! |
