Our Oatlands Community Centre Vision

It took us many, many years to save up to buy it!!
In early 2011, following many years of negotiations, the Oatlands Pre-School management committee were delighted to announce a landmark deal had been signed to purchase the entire premises, securing the pre-school provision for local families for generations to come! The team’s vision is to redevelop the former church hall into a fit-for-purpose local community centre at the heart of the Oatlands community.
The Oatlands area has 6,500 adults and 1,300 under 16’s and no community hall. The number of over 65’s in the Oatlands area is higher than the national average and still we have no community hall! Initial requests for use have been for scouts, brownies, rainbows, keep fit, coffee morning, toddler groups and education classes. Neighbourhood watch, sports clubs and the allotment committee have also expressed an interest. We want to create a community hub to help people work together in this area.
“CHANGE FOR CHANGE” APPEAL
We have a tremendous opportunity to develop the building into a user-friendly meeting place at the heart of the community. Through our ‘change for change‘ appeal, we are asking for cash donations to transform the premises. We hope that the public will invest in us so that we can offer a facility for all in return.
